PRESS RELEASE FROM MAYOR'S OFFICE - CITY OF MOUNTAIN HOME

The City of Mountain Home will continue to provide all services and support to its citizens.  Our number one priority is the safety of our community.  The City will continue to stay in contact with local officials and follow state, federal, and CDC guidelines and recommendations.  

 Mountain Home Parks and Recreation Dept:

Mountain Home, AR - In light of the current COVID-19 virus concerns, Mountain Home Parks and Recreation will cancel all scheduled and structured activities through March 29th. This includes all practices, clinics, facility rentals and tournaments/events.

On Monday, March 30th, the Mountain Home Parks and Recreation department will reassess the COVID-19 situation and announce further plans.

We are hoping to get all of our programs in with regards to their game season and sessions despite delays. Below are the adjustments that will be made moving forward. We will continue to evaluate the situation moving forward. If there are any changes or adjustments to the plan, we will send out an email immediately. If you have not heard from us, there have been no changes made to the plans that are outlined below. Thank you for your understanding. Spring Sports mean a lot to our community and we plan to do what we can to make sure they go on, if it is safe.

Overall- (2) week delay of all group activities and keep monitoring the situation

Spring Youth Leagues (Softball, and Baseball)- We will be delaying the start of team practice from 3/16 to 3/30

Youth Sport activities will be suspended for (2) weeks and we will re-evaluate. We plan to continue these and make sure the kids get all of the scheduled activities in.

L.C. Sammons Youth Center- The Youth Center will be closed at this time until Monday March 30th. Please keep up with our social media for updates.

Facility Rentals- No indoor or outdoor field or court rentals through March 29th.

Senior Exercise Classes- There will be no fitness classes for the next two weeks. They will resume as scheduled on March 30th unless otherwise notified, Pickle Ball will also follow the above guidelines.

Mountain Home Parks and Recreation

Baseball 2 week Delay:

  • Practice starts: Monday, March 30th
  • Season start date: Monday, April 27th
  • Season ends: Week of May 25th

Softball 2 week Delay:

  • Assessments: Sunday, March 29th
  • Practice starts: Monday, April 6th
  • Season start date: Monday, May 11th

End of season: Mid June

Water and Sewer Department:

1).  As of 03/18/20 the water department will close inside offices to the public. 

2).  All business will be conducted thru the drive thru at the water department office and over the telephone at 870-425-5115.

3). Cash/check payments can be made thru the drive thru and drop box at the water department office.  credit/debit card payment can be made online thru the city's website.

4). New services can be handled thru phone to fill out the new service application and finish at the drive thru to complete the transaction and schedule a turn on time.

5).  All other services will be handled by phone @ 870-425-5115.

All other city offices will remain open at this time.
