A special election regarding the Mountain Home Community Center Complex will take place in Mountain Home on May 12th , 2020 . Mountain Home voters will have an opportunity to address two ballot initiatives. The first measure on the ballot is to levy a temporary one-half cent sales and use tax to finance the construction of the Mountain Home Community Center Complex along with overhauling every site in the Mountain Home Parks System. The other measure on the ballot is to levy a permanent one-quarter-cent sales and use tax for the maintenance and operation of the facility. More information will be available at a later date.
04/02/2020 Update - The Mountain Home Community Center Special Election has been canceled until further notice. The Mountain Home City Council voted unanimously to repeal the three ordinances that called for the Community Center Special Election during the April 2nd Council Meeting. Before the ordinances were brought to a vote Mayor Adams noted the timing for a special election wasn't right amid the covid-19 pandemic.
